Teerenpeli SAVU Finnish Single Malt Whisky is a gently peated expression from Teerenpeli Distillery, Finland’s pioneering whisky producer founded in 2002. Crafted using locally sourced Finnish barley and pure Salpausselkä groundwater, SAVU—meaning “smoke” in Finnish—embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. The whisky is matured in a combination of 80% ex-bourbon and 20% Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, a ratio selected through blind tastings by ambassadors and fair visitors. This maturation process imparts a balanced profile of gentle peat smoke and sweet, fruity notes. Bottled at 43% ABV, SAVU is non-chill filtered and free from added color, preserving its natural character.
On the nose, Teerenpeli SAVU offers aromas of peat smoke intertwined with fruity undertones. The palate reveals a gently peated flavor complemented by a sweet and smoky balance, featuring notes of butterscotch and caramel. The finish is delicate and pleasant, with a lingering smoky warmth.
