The Rye Whiskey you are holding in your hands is the result of over 15 years of research. For more than a century, American Rye Whiskey was almost exclusively produced in what was referred to as a Three Chamber Still. These stills extracted distillate, but more importantly they unlocked oils and aromas hidden in grains.

The resulting spirit was marketed as a “heavy-bodied” whiskey that had complex flavors and a viscous finish. Production of these Rye whiskies stopped just after World War II, when the last Three Chamber Still was destroyed and this time-honored American tradition was lost.

Here at Leopold Bros., we’ve been working diligently to resurrect this important piece of American Whiskey history. Leveraging our years of research, we first painstakingly re-engineered a Three Chamber Still from old manuscripts. Then, we worked with local farmers to grow the heritage Abruzzi rye grain
favored by Pre-Prohibition distillers to bring this one-of-a-kind whiskey back to life. We hope you enjoy the rebirth of an American classic as much as we enjoyed making it.
