With the response to our very limited Double Oak program to date, we have decided to improve the quality and accessibility of the product. We specifically promote barrels with prominent grain, fruit, and herbaceous notes because their boldness will be complimented by the extra barrel character. This ultimately makes for a population of barrels that are packed with flavor, while remaining balanced enough to uphold the Peerless name. Small Batches and Single Barrels made in this way will continue to fulfill our promise of quality.

By the time that partially aged whiskey is ready to be transferred into a new cask, it has already developed many of its flavors and characteristics. Caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and sweet oak are just a few notes that have been extracted from the oak container to this point. By exposing the whiskey to a second cask, allowing a full second extraction, the barrel notes are supercharged and give this whiskey supreme complexity as well as a heavy mouthfeel. Our dedicated tasting team carefully select barrels bold enough to stand up to the extra barrel character, yielding a balanced Double Oak Whiskey.

Sweet seasoned oak and orange zest are featured in a robust nose. The first sip is warm molasses and earthy cinnamon. The palate quickly shifts to feature bright florals and earthy, smoked herbs. The finish adds a candied smoke as the bright and dark elements tussle in an exciting finale.
