The Domaine’s old Grenache noir vines have the greatest pedigree of all — hand-carried (with permission) from the Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Domaine Du Mas Black Banyuls ‘Collection’ comes entirely from parcels exceeding 40 years of age. After 10+ years aging in demi-muid (650-liter barrel), these wines were specially selected for a further elevage in barrique, for at least an additional 15 years. Only one barrel of each vintage remained in August 2017, when the wine was bottled.
