At AD Rattray we go to great lengths to source interesting and unusual casks from the six traditional whisky regions of Scotland. Each distillery represented is different and every cask is unique. When we judge that a cask has reached the peak of perfection, we bottle it at its natural strength, color and with no chill-filtration. This retains the true essence of the spirit and cask interaction for your enjoyment.
Linkwood Distillery was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown and rebuilt in 1874 by his son, William. It is now owned by Diageo and most of the production is used as "top dressing" in their major blends such as Johnnie Walker and White Horse. Roderick Mackenzie, who was the distillery manager at one time, refused to allow even spiders' webs to be removed from the building in case it should alter the flavor of the spirit.
