Leopold Bros. is a family owned and operated small batch distillery located in Denver, Colorado that produces a large variety of world class spirits. Leopold Bros. is an extremely small company with only a handful of employees, including the two brothers. Every aspect of the distilling process is done by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Todd & Scott Leopold, designed and developed a unique distillery in which environmental sustainability is a daily practice.
Hand bottled, hand labeled and hand numbered, we have been distilling Leopold’s American Small Batch Gin since 2002. Most gin is produced by placing spirit in a pot-still and adding every botanical to be distilled all at once. Not all botanicals have the same boiling point. We have a different approach by distilling each botanical individually: juniper, orris root, cardamon, coriander, orange and pummelo. This allows us to focus on capturing the most expressive flavor for each botanical. We carefully make the cuts like you would for whiskey: heads, hearts and tails. The result is a softer, brighter and more approachable spirit. In the spring of 2009, the Wall Street Journal held a blind tasting of all available American Gins. Leopold’s was selected as their favorite.
