Up to this point, we've relied on Italy and France for most of our bitter herbal concoctions. Fortunately, Max Rudsten and Ben Flajnik decided to make San Francisco's first small batch Fernet. Introduced to the Bay Area by pre-Prohibition Italian immigrants, Amaro has a longstanding tradition in a city that boasts massive consumption of bitters. Now, Max and Ben have added Ruibardo to the roster. Made with the help of Farid Dormishian, owner and master distiller of Falcon Spirits, Ruibardo is built on a Fernet base of 12 local organic herbs and rhubarb infused in grape brandy and organic natural grain spirit. 40% ABV.
