At AD Rattray we go to great lengths to source interesting and unusual casks from the six traditional whisky regions of Scotland. Each distillery represented is different and every cask is unique. When we judge that a cask has reached the peak of perfection, we bottle it at its natural strength, color and with no chill-filtration. This retains the true essence of the spirit and cask interaction for your enjoyment.
Loch Lomond Distillery was built in 1965/66 by the owner of Littlemill Distillery, the American-born Duncan Thomas, and American Barton Brands. The range of stills and different peat levels means 8 different styles of malt whisky - one of which is Croftengea. A grain whisky can be produced making it self-sufficient as a blender and indeed most of the whisky made here goes into blends. Loch Lomond is the largest loch in the UK at 24 miles long, 5 miles wide and up to 600 feet deep. With 38 islands it is a well-known natural beauty and well worth a visit.
